How to make your marketing effective?
Start with your business plan and work out the marketing plan. Not the other way round.
Use the SMART mnemonic – Specific, Measurable, achievable, relevant, time-limited – in the process of your marketing.
From the marketing plan, break the requirements into actual actions and smaller tasks. For example – you want more customers -break this down into; get more likes on social media, followers, turning them into prospects, engaging, personalised communications to customers.
Do one thing great, rather than many not so well.
Set measures at the beginning and adjust with evidence. Measure as much as possible, but don’t get too much data to make it unmanagable. When evaluating the result be realisitic on what can be achieved.
If it’s not delivering, review but don’t automatically stop.
You want to spend as little as you can for the most reward.
